About Shane

Shanes a police dog, born and bred. Her family line is nearly all police canines, some military dogs. Ever since she was a pup, she could not wait to see some action, catch a bad guy or two, spend time with her human partner and meet other like minded canines. Her younger years were just as average as any Police Force puppy, lots of training hours logged, you know the normal. Shane was the most focused dog in her training, driven by a strong need to protect and serve. Relationships came last in her eyes and that feeling grew stronger as she aged. Relationships were never one of Shanes strong points anyway, be it friendship or a mate. They always thought she took her job to serious and told her to lighten up, but how? It was all she'd ever known. Her personality was nearly always too much for some canines, a strong and stern working type with a hint of sarcasm. She can and will follow orders but is known to be head strong with a stubborn attitude that has gotten her into trouble a lot. Will she learn? No, thats just who she is. [break][break]
Not many humans wanted Shane as there K9 partner, she had a history that was not her own fault. On her second mission everything went wrong, it was a drug bust. The place was full of guard dogs and people with large weapons. The place caught fire, you couldn't see one inch in front of your face. Guns were going off, dogs were barking and Police humans were screaming at the others to surrender. It happened so fast that she barely remembers what happened, it was a huge mistake though. An accident.... some people said not. Shane had accidentally attacked her partner, which lead to them getting shot and killed. How could she have known? All the humans were waving and running around and she was starting to feel disoriented by the fumes from the fire. It was all blurred. Luckily for Shane they did not label her as an aggressive dog. It took a long time to clear her name but still no one wanted her. I guess they were fearful she may be aggressive or simply feared that she just wasn't a canine you could trust to have by your side. She'd been shamed and locked in the kennels out back, waiting to be assigned a human partner. It seemed like years that she was locked away, ignored and laughed at but soon it happened. Shane was back in the force with a fresh start and a second chance, a human much like herself wanted Shane as her partner. Said she liked the canines spunk. The two were alike in many ways, so of course it didn't take long for that friendship between canine and human to bloom. Shane was happy to be back at work, now protecting humans and canines alike, she'd do her former partner proud..no canine could talk Shane down, not anymore. Her mind was set in its ways, she was, however extremely protective of her new human, nothing was going to happen to her. Not under her watch. [break][break]
Shane's not an easy canine to get along with, she can seem cold almost switched off from anything that isn't her human or her work. That being said she is a loyal friend and a canine that stays true to her word. Take your time, look past the shield she has put up and one day you'll have a pretty swell friend. Shanes not up to date on what's hip or in fashion, she's a tad on the old fashioned side. Might be because of who raised her, there ways were over the top and strict. In matters that aren't work, when push comes to shove..you'll have to shove harder.
