There were many things that the young canine was known as around this part of the town. A street rat. A mutt. A misfit. A junkyard dog. The names were endless as well as the places she was known to just randomly show up in. However, one of her more frequent stops was an old Junkyard that seemed to feel more like a home than anything to her. There wasn't any food - but the old cars and stacks of junk provided a decent shelter from the thunderstorms and snow when she needed them. Much more seclusion then when trying to find shelter in the old alleyways of the town. Now, she pranced back from a scavenge of the dumpsters with quite a large turkey - full sized with the majority of meat still clinging to it - dangling heavily from her small jaws. Though the young canine made a fantastic hunter, she preferred to steal food from the dumpster in the alley behind a local fast-food store. It was easy when the bigger dogs weren't around and she was always promised a meal! So, why hunt when you can have that?

She walked through the junkyard proud and confidently, the huge chunk of meat simply swinging with every step she took. One thing the border collie mix had learned in the past was that if you were capable of taking a big meal without force - then you have proudly earned the meal, so strut your glory. The other thing being that she knew when she had to fight for it and defend it. Getting the food was half the fight - now she just had to keep it until she could eat it all. Truth be told, being a stray was tough - especially for a 2 year old who was as small as the collie herself. But, she had managed for at least 13 months now, and she was fit. Maybe a little on the thin side, but she was tough. Stronger mentally then most dogs she could meet - though she hadn't met any yet! The young dog continued her trek around the junkyard until she came to a familiar dulled down car.
The roof was almost completely caved in, but she was still able to squeeze inside and onto what was left of the seat cushions inside. It wasn't much, but the kept her clear of the rain and out of the way from most of the other lurking scavengers that found shelter here as well. Lowering her nose, she did a quick scout and when it appeared to be clear, she dug into her meal, tearing off the skin and meat and pushing the bones aside to feast on later. She had really done herself well this time. It had been at least 2 months since she had had a meal this big, and she was more than ready to just devour it.Words: 482 • Tags: open to anyone and everyone • Notes: Eh, my muse will go for her and better posts will be made after that. :3
